Material You, launched in 2021 as part of Android 12, represented a significant evolution in Google's design system. This initiative fundamentally enhanced user personalization capabilities, fostering greater cohesion and an overall more engaging experience across the Google ecosystem. It introduced principles such as dynamic color, expressive shapes, and fluid motion.

I lead the UX engagement for this program, maanging a team of UX designers and program managers, with the primary objective of ensuring the effective adoption and implementation of Material You's principles across Google's diverse product portfolio.

Our work focused on translating the core Material You vision into practical application. This included developing clear UX guidelines, conducting workshops to educate product teams on new features like dynamic color implementation, and serving as a key resource for design and integration challenges. Our aim was to empower UX practitioners across Google to leverage Material You fully, resulting in more premium and expressive product experiences. The project received a highly positive reception, establishing a robust foundation for subsequent advancements in Google's design language.
